âWomb to tombâ
2024
Womb to Tomb presents an inflatable female doll holding a tray with twenty small
bags of mixed breast milk. The image is deliberately ambivalent: at first absurd or
humorous, yet ultimately intimate and unsettling. The bags of breast milk symbolize a
universal beginning â nourishment, dependency, the maternal gesture that sustains
all human life.
Without women, without mothers, nothing would exist. At the same
time, the use of a sex doll as bearer of this offering cannot be overlooked. The female
body here is both sacred and commodified â revered as a source of nourishment,
reduced to a synthetic object of desire.
